How it was 70 years ago: The battle for the Reichstag

The Berlin Reichstag of 1945 is recreated in St. Petersburg

The idea of the panorama “Battle of Berlin: The Feat of the Standard-bearers” is to give the viewer an opportunity to experience the heroic journey of Soviet soldiers on the road to Berlin and to bring original wartime artefacts — uniforms, weapons, equipment, household items, etc. — closer to home. The interactive panorama tells about an intelligence group under the command of Semyon Sorokin. Soldiers from this group were among the first to hoist a makeshift Red Banner aloft the Reichstag.
