Motorcycle racers choose slippery track

On February 2 and 3 the second round of the Speedway World Motorcycle Ice Racing Championship took place in Krasnogorsk, in the Moscow region. Russian racer Daniel Ivanov placed first, followed by 6 of his compatriots. Among the 18 participants to the race, 9 were Russians. The other 9 came from Austria, Finland, Czech Republic, Poland, Holland, Sweden and Germany.

Motorcycle ice racing is an extremely captivating kind of sport as well as extremely dangerous. While this sport is not very widespread in the rest of the world, it is extremely popular in Russia, where the passion for racing and winter sports can easily be combined.
