Latin passion on a Moscow stage

The State Kremlin Palace in Moscow held the 20th annual World Cup for Latin American Dance for professional dancers.

More than two dozen couples from around the world took part in the competition. The world’s best dancing duets came to Russia’s capital after receiving a special invitation by Stanislav Popov, President of the Russian Dance Union.

The World Cup champions were Michael Malitowski and Joanna Leunis from Great Britain. Coming in second place were Maurizio Vescovo and Andra Vaidilaite (Canada), with Andrej Skufca and Melinda Torokgyorgy from Slovenia rounding out the top three. Russia’s best contestants were Justinas Duknauskas and Anna Melnikova who took fifth place in the competition.
