Cinematryoshka: The 20th anniversary of the Shar animation studio

The most notable modern school of animation Shar turns 20 this year. RBTH attended the anniversary of this studio.

The guests and visitors have seen the best movies of Shar and a special program related to the past, present and future of the studio. The co-founders of Shar Yuri Norstein & Andrey Khrzhanovsky (the other two were Fedor Khitruk and Edward Nazarov), Veniamin Smekhov, Yuri Rost, Ivan Maximov, graduates and students shared their best memories.

The graduates of the "Shar” became well-known entertainers (among the animation-lovers at least): Alexey Demin, Svetlana Filippova, Elena Chernova, Sergei Gelder, Leon Estrin, Andrei Sokolov, Elena Oyateva, Anastasia Zhuravleva, etc. The movie studio school "Shar" is consistently receiving awards of the Russian and international festivals, being nominated for the prestigious awards.
