A huge carpet of fresh flowers adorns Red Square

Moscow hosted a flower festival from July 18-23 dedicated to the anniversary of the State Department Store, GUM. Nearly 700,000 plants in 29 different shades were grown for the festival and arranged in Red Square, covering an area of 4,000 square meters between the Kremlin wall and the central entrance to the store.
