Carnival à la russe at Gorky Park’s birthday party

Gorky Park, Moscow’s main attraction for residents and tourists alike, marked its 85th anniversary last Saturday.

Muscovites of different ages took part in the park’s birthday party. People were dancing and showing off their costumes.

The park opened in 1928 and was named after Maxim Gorky, a political activist and writer who founded the literary movement 'socialist realism’.
