Volunteers from the cities that sit on Siberia’s largest river, the Yenisei, went out to clean it. Yenisei Day Festival organised by the Russian Geographical Society was consisted of a marathon of ecological events that started in May.

Eastern Siberia's unique nature remains unspoilt in many places. However, banks of Yenisei River, the main artery of the region, get covered with debris and litter every year. Thanks to volunteers' ecological activities, the Yenisei and its banks are cleared during the warm seasons, and the river's water is potable.
