The regional ethnographic festival "Donskaya Loza" (The Don Vine) takes place every year on the last Saturday of September in the district of Ust-Donetsky that residents call "the heart of the Don". The festival's place was selected for a special reason. The village of Pukxlyakovsky, tucked away in one of the picturesque corners of the Don's shore, has old viticultural traditions. The founders of these traditions were Peter the Great and the famous ataman of the Donskoy Cossacks, Count Matvei Ivanovich Platov.
