Organ music tunes Muscovites into Christmas

Moscow’s Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception held an organ concert entitled “A Musical Christmas Present”.

Cathedral parishioners, as well as organ music lovers, were able to get into the Christmas spirit by listening to compositions by Bach, List, and Merkel. Concert-goers were also delighted by Christmas-themed improvisations by organist Professor Marek Stefański from the Krakow Academy of Music. Professor Stefański, who’s given concerts in various Russian cities over the past 15 years, says that organ concerts usually bring a full house.

“For me, the audiences are the main thing about Russia. Nowhere else in the world have I seen such an audience, so many people who receive the artist and organ music so well. That's why I get such great pleasure from concerts in Russia.”
