Tu-95MS: Russian bear

The four-engine turboprop-powered strategic bomber, which made its public debut in 1955, evolved into more than 20 different modifications over the years.

The Tupolev Tu-95MS (NATO reportingname: "Bear") is a large, four-engine turboprop-powered strategic bomber and missile platform.

It is the only propeller-powered strategic bomber still in operational use today.

The Russian Air Force has several dozen Tu-95MS bombers carrying strategic cruise missiles X-55.

Around 70% of the Russian Armed Forces’ strategic aviation is expected to be modernized by 2020.
