Eye surgeons plan a new operation on Bolshoi Theater Ballet Art Director Sergei Filin on Tuesday or Wednesday, chief doctor of Moscow city hospital #36 Alexander Mitichkin has said.
"In the next couple of days eye doctors will decide on the day of surgery - it may be Tuesday or Wednesday," he said to Interfax on Sunday.
He said that Filin's general condition is gradually improving.
"His condition is closer to satisfactory. He slept well last night without pain-killers. He was examined once again by ophthalmologists and doctors from the burns center. No signs of secondary infection were discovered," he added.
It was reported earlier that an unknown man had sprayed acid in Filin's face near his home in the early hours of Friday, causing him serious burns. On Friday he underwent eye surgery. On Saturday investigators started questioning him.
