Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has pledged to raise the amount of funding intended for state-run scientific foundations to 25 billion rubles by 2018.
"The overall amount of funding for state-run scientific foundations should reach 25 billion rubles by 2018," Medvedev said at a government session on Thursday.
The system of research scholarships will be promoted further and cooperation between universities and business will be maintained, the prime minister said.
Leading scientists will be invited to Russia, including as part of major projects, he said.
