Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said he regrets that some situations in which Russian citizens have found themselves abroad have not been resolved.
"What I regret the most is that we can probably say a number of difficult situations with Russian citizens abroad have not been resolved," Lavrov said during a meeting with the students and faculty in the Diplomatic Academy on Monday.

Lavrov reiterated that the Foreign Ministry is working on these issues.
"I cannot and won't give detailed information on what precisely we do. We do it virtually on a daily basis, including those who are in difficult situations in Libya, Nigeria, and some other countries, and, of course, in the U.S.," Lavrov said.
"Unfortunately, not everything depends on us. There are people who found themselves in the U.S. because of serious violations of international law by the U.S. special services, these people are Bout and Yaroshenko. Not only international law, but also the laws of Thailand, in the case of Bout," Lavrov said.
Lavrov reiterated that the Foreign Ministry is not forgetting its tasks.
"We need to rescue our people. We are working on that. We are working on our sailors in Nigeria, and our colleagues and compatriots in Libya. It's just we can't speak about everything to prevent doing any harm. It's very sensitive work," Lavrov said.
