Former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev will present a German version of his latest book titled in Russian 'Naedine s Soboi' (Alone With Myself) in Germany next week.
"The presentation events will take place in three cities, namely at the Brecht Theater [the Berliner Ensemble] in Berlin, at a book festival in Cologne, and at St. Peter's Church in Leipzig," the Gorbachev Foundation told Interfax.
"Tickets have been sold for the presentations in Berlin and Cologne," it said.
"Surely, they were not expensive, but the presentation organizers were amazed by the fact that half an hour after the sale was started, they were all bought up," it said.
In presenting the Russian edition of the 600-plus-page book in Moscow on November 13, 2012, Gorbachev admitted that he had written it chiefly in commemoration of his late wife, Raisa Gorbachev.
"I saw that my wife was simply fading away, and I was doing something, but I didn't actually know what to do. After she died, we were sorting out her belongings. There was her notebook in a little plastic bag, and one of the pages had this note: 'My heart really aches'. I couldn't fail to write such a book," Gorbachev said.
"I was struggling with this book, I am not a writer anymore," he said.
