Opposition activists rallying in central Moscow in support for May 6, 2012 defendants

Activists of various opposition organizations, including Left Front, Solidarity, RPR-Parnas, the December 5 Party and others gathered in Novopushkinsky Park in central Moscow on Saturday for a rally in support for activists being prosecuted for involvement in clashes with police during the May 6, 2012 opposition march and rally on Bolotnaya Square in Moscow.

The organizers of the Saturday demonstration installed a large banner saying 'Freedom to Bolotnaya Case Defendants' and pictures of all these people at the venue of the rally.

About a dozen cars and trucks belonging to riot police units, a large number of traffic police cars, and vehicles of other security agencies have been deployed at the place. Two ambulances are also parked nearby. Dozens of policemen are maintaining public order in the park, in the underpasses, and in the subway.
