Vladislav Surkov has been relieved of his duties as deputy prime minister

Vladislav Surkov has been relieved of his duties as Russian deputy prime minister and head of the government secretariat upon tendering voluntary resignation, the Kremlin press service reported with reference to a decree signed by President Vladimir Putin.

The decree orders "relieving Vladislav Yuryevich Surkov of his duties as a deputy chairman of the Russian government and head of the government secretariat according to his voluntary resignation."

The decree takes effect on the day of its signature.
