Granting asylum to Snowden in Venezuela would be best solution - Duma deputy

Venezuela's decision to offer asylum to Edward Snowden would be the best solution, the head of the State Duma international affairs committee said

Venezuela's decision to offer asylum to former U.S. intelligence contractor Edward Snowden would be the best solution, says Alexei Pushkov, the head of the Russian State Duma international affairs committee.

"Asylum for Snowden in Venezuela would be the best solution. This country is in a bitter conflict with the U.S. This surely won't make things worse. After all, he can't live in Sheremetyevo," Pushkov said on Twitter on Saturday.

It was reported earlier that Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro offered asylum to Snowden.
