Warlord Doku Umarov's bodyguard killed in Ingushetia

The Russian National Antiterrorist Committee has confirmed that one of the two gunmen killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Ingushetia was warlord Doku Umarov's personal bodyguard.

"The gunman, Mikail Musikhanov, nicknamed Abdul-Kudus and Khasu, who was born in Samashki in the Achkhoi-Martan district in 1983, was Doku Umarov's personal bodyguard. He went underground in 2008 and joined Doku Umarov's entourage in 2011, since when he has always escorted him," the NAC said in a statement on Saturday.

The other gunman has been identified as Ibragim Tsyzdoyev, nicknamed Muslim, born in the village of Yemash-Pavlovo in the Perm region in 1988. The Russian National Antiterrorist Committee has information indicating that Tsyzdoyev joined illegal armed groups in the North Caucasus in 2010.
