Over 50 people have been released under the so-called economic amnesty, the Russian Penitentiary Service press office said in a statement obtained by Interfax on Monday.
"As of August 2, 52 people have been released under the State Duma resolution of July 2 On Declaring Amnesty," the statement said.
According to the information of the penitentiary service, 19 out of the 52 were registered in criminal penitentiary inspections, five were serving time in correction facilities and 28 were in detention facilities.
