The flood situation in the Chelyabinsk region continues to aggravate: the rain continues and the number of flooded buildings is increasing.
"A total of 511 farmsteads and 75 residential buildings with a population of 951 people remain flooded in the village of Parizh. A total of 391 people, including 114 children, have been evacuated from the flooded buildings. The people are now located in temporary accommodation facilities organized in the kindergarten and school," Valentin Gridnev, deputy head of the Emergency Situations Ministry's Main Department for the Chelyabinsk region for anti-crisis management, told a press conference on Friday.
The water level went up fifty centimeters in residential houses and 1.8 meters in the local river, he said.
The rescue services working in Parizh are composed of 71 people and 21 units of equipment. The rescuers are helping people move in the flooded village.
"The situation in Parizh remains difficult. The rain continued this morning and water levels continue rising. No such things happed in the Nagaibaksky district in the past 89 years. The oldest resident of the village is 89 and he does not remember such foods," Gridnev said.
The situation aggravated in the city of Kartaly on August 8. A total of 276 buildings, where 948 people live, are flooded there. A total of 237 people, including 71 children, have been evacuated. A total of 394 people, 79 units of equipment, and ten boats are being used for helping people in the flooded area. It has now stopped raining in Kartaly.
The situation in the Verkhneuralsky district may aggravate due to the heavy rains in the neighboring Bashkortostan, Gridnev said.
