An explosion aboard the Indian sub could have been caused by loading of ammo - opinion

Blast and fire aboard the Indian submarine Sindhurakshak could have been caused by one of the four reasons or their combination, a source with the Russian shipbuilding industry

Blast and fire aboard the Indian submarine Sindhurakshak could have been caused by one of the four reasons or their combination, a source with the Russian shipbuilding industry told Interfax-AVN on Thursday.

"The most probable reasons include sabotage, hydrogen leak from the battery tank, violation of the regulations on technical operations, or mechanical failure of one of the systems," he said.

"It is quite possible that the combination of the second and third reasons took place in this tragic incident, that is, it looks like the Indians might have combined the loading of ammunition and the charging of the batteries, which is categorically forbidden," he added.
