A Russian government aircraft evacuated 89 nationals of the Commonwealth of Independent States, including 75 Russians, from Syria on Tuesday.
"An aircraft of the Ministry of Emergency Situations that delivered about 20 tonnes of humanitarian relief today has left Latakia. It has 89 people on board who decided to leave Syria," ministry spokeswoman Irina Rossius told Interfax.
The majority of the Russian evacuees are women and children, she said.
The plane is due to land at Moscow's Domodedovo Airport at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
