Aviation Equipment, which is part of Russia’s state-owned corporation Rostec, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the American company Boeing.
The document proposes the creation of a working group to investigate the possibility of the Russian company producing undercarriage legs and control systems for the global leader in passenger aircraft manufacturing.
UTC Aerospace Systems — a division of United Technologies Corporation and Boeing’s current landing gear integrator — has signed the memorandum as a third party.
Maxim Kuzyuk, the general director of Aviation Equipment, emphasized: “This document is an important step for us from the point of view of developing cooperation with leading aviation equipment manufacturers and our plans to actively enter the global market.”
This memorandum does not herald the first time that Aviation Equipment has cooperated with Boeing. In October 2012, the company reached an agreement with the American company for assistance in establishing a service center in Russia, for the distribution of spare parts for aircraft. Total capital investment in this project will be 1,400,000,000 rubles ($42 billion) by 2015.
