"According to our information, 14 activists have been charged. All have been charged with piracy," the lawyer said.

Russian, British, Brazilian, Finnish and Dutch citizens are among those charged, Kreindlin said.

Greenpeace does not know yet whether all other members of the Arctic Sunrise crew will be charged on Wednesday, Kreindlin said.

First two Greenpeace activists charged with sea piracy

The first two members of the Greenpeace Arctic Sunrise crew were indicted in Murmansk on Wednesday, Greenpeace Russia lawyer Mikhail Kreindlin told Interfax.
