Pyotr Verzilov, the husband of convicted Pussy Riot member Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, believes his wife was transferred to Chelyabinsk instead of Chuvashia.
"The defense lawyers for Tolokonnikova and members of the Public Observer Commission for the Chelyabinsk region are now trying to find Nadezhda Tolokonnikova in Chelyabinsk establishments because they believe that's where she is," Verzilov told Interfax.
Verzilov said he has information that Tolokonnikova passed through Ulyanovsk and Ufa by train and was taken off the train in Chelyabinsk in the morning of October 24.
"Sources have told me that Nadya was put in Cell 190 in Detention Facility 1 in central Chelyabinsk on October 24," he said.
A lawyer for Tolokonnikova has visited the establishment to verify this information and the detention facility administration told him in writing that Tolokonnikova was not there.
"In the morning of October 25, members of the Public Observer Commission for the Chelyabinsk region came to inspect Detention Facility 1, where Nadezhda was expected to be located, and did not find any trace of her there," Verzilov said.
Verzilov said he has information that members of the Public Observer Commission for the Chelyabinsk region have officially asked the Federal Service for the Enforcement of Punishments' Main Department for the Chelyabinsk region to provide information on Tolokonnikova's location in the establishment.
