Three people have been killed in an exchange of fire between unidentified individuals in central Nazran, an Ingush law enforcement source told Interfax on Saturday.

Three people have been killed in an exchange of fire between unidentified individuals in central Nazran, an Ingush law enforcement source told Interfax on Saturday.

"Two unidentified individuals exchanged fire on Mutaliyev Street at about 1:00 p.m. Moscow time, and two participants in the shootout died from wounds on the spot. A woman passing by was also wounded and died from the injury in the hospital," the source said.

The participants in the incident, who are neighbors, had a quarrel that turned into a fistfight on Friday, the source said.

A spokesperson for the Ingush Interior Ministry confirmed the incident on Mutaliyev Street in Nazran to Interfax.

"Preliminary findings indicate that two men died on the spot as a result of a skirmish, and one more has been hospitalized with a wound. A woman riding a bus also died from a wound to the head," the Interior Ministry spokesperson said.

An investigative team is working at the scene.
