Cambodia may deport Polonsky - Russian Interior Ministry

The Cambodian authorities may choose deportation as the simplest procedure to turn businessman Sergei Polonsky over to Moscow, which, unlike extradition, may take only a few days, the Russian Interior Ministry told Interfax on Wednesday.

"We do not rule out that Polonsky may be turned over to Russian law enforcement agencies in a deportation procedure," a ministry spokesperson said.

"If the presence of goodwill is demonstrated by the Cambodian authorities, a person figuring into a criminal case may be turned over to the country accusing him of committing a crime immediately," he said.
