Russian Security Council supports constructive dialog of authorities with environmental NGOs

It is necessary to cooperate with environmental non-governmental organizations (NGO) more actively if it concerns constructive dialog and provocations should be resisted on the legal basis, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said.

Information on what is being done on the topic at the federal and regional levels should be reported more actively through mass media outlets and it is necessary to cooperate with population and NGOs more actively as well, Patrushev told reporters following a Security Council meeting on Wednesday dedicated to environmental issues and environment protection.

"In particular, to receive information from NGOs and to take it into account. When it is a constructive dialog, this should be done and when these are some provocations, they should be fought in accordance with the law," Patrushev said.
