State Duma deputy Yelena Mizulina was attacked by LGBT activists in Leipzig on Saturday.

"Aggressive LGBT activists tried to hinder the conference," Mizulina, the head of the State Duma committee on family, women and children, said on Twitter on Saturday.

Mizulina said several members of the Russian delegation, including herself, Natalya Narochinskaya, president of the Foundation for Historical Prospects Studies, and a journalist with the television channel Dozhd, were injured.

The incident occurred at a conference on family issues held in Leipzig, in which the delegation of Russian parliamentarians was participating.
