Putin to inspect Sochi sports facilities, to be briefed on state defense order fulfillment

President Vladimir Putin will visit Sochi on November 27-29 to inspect the final stages in the preparations for the 22nd Winter Olympic Games and the 11th Winter Paralympic Games to be held in 2014, the Kremlin press service has reported.

Putin will travel to the Gornaya Karusel (Mountain Carousel) mountain skiing sports and tourist center, which is comprised of the "Russian Hills" ski jumps and a media village, and visit the central Olympic stadium, Fisht.

Putin will be briefed on the infrastructure's readiness, and on the games' operational management.

In addition to this, Putin will chair a series of meetings to assess the fulfillment of the state defense order and modernization of the armed forces under the 2011-2020 state armaments program, the Kremlin press service said.
