Rosnano plans to invest $1.9 billion in projects in 2014

Rosnano state corporation is planning to invest 66 billion rubles (1.9 billion) in existing and new nanotechnology projects in 2014, according to Rosnano's long-term business plan in the period until 2020 approved by the company's board of directors on January 28.

Rosnano state corporation is planning to invest 66 billion rubles (1.9 billion) in existing and new nanotechnology projects in 2014, according to Rosnano's long-term business plan in the period until 2020 approved by the company's board of directors on January 28.

The business plan sets additional funding for the existing investment portfolio at 26 billion rubles ($750 million). The company has also formed a pool of future projects, whose funding by Rosnano could amount to 40 billion rubles ($1.15 billion) in 2014.

Investments in the pool of new projects are expected to be made in cooperation with nano-manufacturers who need additional capital in order to increase the output of their nano-products and implement innovative programs, the document said.

By the end of the third quarter in 2013 Rosnano concluded 95 direct investment deals to the tune of 129 billion rubles ($3.7 billion). These include 60 investments in startup companies, 25 investments in venture projects and ten in various funds.
