The possible deployment of U.S. missile defense components on Ukrainian territory in exchange for U.S. financial support to Kiev is a subject of negotiations, Ukrainian Ambassador in Minsk Mykhailo Yezhel said.
"This is a subject of negotiations. As they say, shoot first and ask questions later," the ambassador told reporters in Minsk on Wednesday, speaking of the possible deployment of U.S. missile defense components in Ukraine as a condition of financial support to the crisis-ridden country.
Russia does not want a war with Ukraine and is prepared to support all forces in that country that advocate stronger relations between Moscow and Kiev, Russian State Secretary - Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said.
Speaking to the Kremlin pool of journalists at his residence outside Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin gave his perspective on the new government in Kiev, the situation in Crimea and Viktor Yanukovich.
