Russian President Vladimir Putin said he set the task to the government to maintain general macroeconomic stability and to keep the inflation at the low level.
"It is necessary to maintain general macroeconomic stability. We went after this for years, achieved positive results and they should be preserved and preferably increased, and the possibility to respond promptly to domestic and outside threats should be foreseen. And their number does not decrease," Putin said at a meeting on economic issues in Sochi on Wednesday. It is also required "to keep inflation at an acceptably low level," the president said.
