Timchenko resigns as editor-in-chief of Lenta.ru

Galina Timchenko is leaving her post as editor-in-chief of Lenta.ru and will be replaced by Alexei Goreslavsky, deputy general director of Afisha-Rambler-SUP.

Galina Timchenko is leaving her post as editor-in-chief of Lenta.ru and will be replaced by Alexei Goreslavsky, deputy general director of Afisha-Rambler-SUP.

"Lenta.ru editor-in-chief Galina Timchenko will leave her post. This decision was made by Alexander Mamut, owner of the united company Afisha-Rambler-SUP," Lenta.ru reported on Wednesday.

The new editor-in-chief of Lenta.ru is Goreslavsky, who was deputy general director of Afisha-Rambler-SUP on external communications before this appointment.

"The changes are effective beginning on March 12," media reports say.

Timchenko has worked for Lenta.ru since its inception in 1999 and has been editor-in-chief of the publication since 2004.

Roskomnadzor earlier issued a written warning to Lenta.ru for the dissemination of extremist materials.
