In accordance with the decision made by the Supreme Council of Crimea, which was renamed the State Council on Monday, the Ukrainian hryvnia will remain legal tender in Crimea until January 1, 2016.
"The official currency of the Republic of Crime is the Russian ruble. The Ukrainian hryvnia will also be an official currency until January 1, 2016 in accordance with Article 48 of the Temporary Provision," the Supreme Council of Crimea said in a decree approving the Temporary Provision on the Bank of Crimea adopted on Monday.
