The governmental committee on legislative activities has approved the bill submitted by the Russian Foreign Ministry and aimed at easing issuing visas to foreign citizens entering Russia, the governmental website said in a statement on Tuesday.

In particular, it is proposed to cut the number of documents foreign citizens have to submit for obtaining Russian tourist visas and to extend maximum visa duration from 30 days to six months and the number of entries granted.

The draft law is aimed at the general improvement of the Russian visa practice and creating the most comfortable conditions to enter Russia for foreigners coming with business purposes, the document said.

The bill stipulates easing entry of foreign citizens coming for developing and maintaining cultural, scientific, technical, public, political, sports, and youth ties, the statement said.

The governmental committee has also approved the bill submitted by the Russian Ministry of Communications and Mass Media and aimed at easing the procedure of attracting highly qualified foreign experts by Russian IT companies.
