Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko has said Russia should have its own credit-rating agencies that would show an objective picture.
"It seems to me, we need to think about creating our own credit-rating agencies at last, so as not to depend on credit-rating agencies biased towards foreign governments," she said at a meeting between the Russian president and the house council.
Senators have a whole host of proposals that they are ready to submit for consideration, Matviyenko said.
Asian markets offer a way out for Russia. Sanctions and the flight of Western investors following the Ukrainian crisis will prompt Russia to make serious efforts to improve relations with its eastern partners. In the mid-term, Asia could become the main distribution market for Russian goods as well as a source of capital and technology.
