The British Consulate has promised to rectify its visa issuing problems which arose after it changed its visa center, according to the Association of Russian Tour Operators (ATOR).

Earlier the association and the tour operators working with the UK wrote a collective letter to the Consulate, asking it to resolve the visa center problem, and has now received a reply.

We are working with our partner, Teleperformance, to resolve the problems related to the new visa center and those stated in your letter. Let us reassure you that all the inconveniences will be removed in the very near future, the British Consulate said in its letter to ATOR.

On March 25 the Russian Travel Industry Union (RST) said that at least 118 people, mostly school students, were unable to travel to the UK because their visas were not ready by their departure date.

Supporting documents were filed on February 20 - 25 and flights were due on March 21 - 22, the RST said.
