Unlike European partners, Russia continues providing Ukraine with economic support but this can not last forever, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"To put it mildly, the situation is strange of course, because, as it is known, our partners in Europe recognize the legitimacy of the current Kiev authorities but do nothing to support Ukraine. No a single dollar, not a single euro," Putin said at a government meeting on Wednesday.
"Russia does not recognize the legitimacy of the Kiev authorities but still continues providing economic support and subsidizing the Ukrainian economy with hundreds of millions and billions of dollars. Of course, this situation can not last forever," the president said.
Putin said he urged the government "to act very carefully and without destroying what little is left."
