Police HQ in Donetsk region city under gun attack - Ukraine minister

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov wrote on Facebook on Saturday evening that the district police headquarters in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, was currently under a gun attack.

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov wrote on Facebook on Saturday evening that the district police headquarters in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, was currently under a gun attack.

 

"Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. Attack in progress. Unidentified individuals opened fire on district [police] department. Police retaliating. Exchange of fire in progress," Avakov wrote.

An attack on the district police headquarters in Krasny Liman, also in Donetsk region, has been "rebuffed by police and a city militia," he said.

 

In Slovyansk, a city in the same region, "mobile telephone towers destroyed, district police department and SBU [headquarters of the local branch of the Security Service] besieged," he said.

Police and army troops "are carrying out an operational reaction plan," Avakov said.
