The crisis in Ukraine can not be resolved, in particular, tension in eastern Ukraine can not be lifted, militarily, State Duma Chairman Sergei Naryshkin said.
"Military and forceful solutions for this issue do not exist," Naryshkin told reporters on Monday, when asked about the proposal of Verkhovna Rada Chairman, acting Ukrainian President Oleksandr Turchynov to hold a operation joint with UN peacekeepers in eastern Ukraine.
"The so-called Ukrainian authorities should come to their senses and start normal dialog with the country's citizens," Naryshkin said.
Forceful solutions will lead to bloodshed and will escalate the crisis, he said.
Using arms against our own people "is not just huge nonsense, it is a crime regarding our own country and own people," Naryshkin said.
"If it comes to this, of course, the deepest crisis tearing the country apart will become deeper, it will not lead to a result - a result all parties of this conflict and all parties involved in this conflict want to see," Naryshkin said
