Transgaz, the operator of the Romanian gas transport system, will not be technically ready to provide large volumes of gas supplies to Ukraine until 2016-2017, the Romanian company said in a statement.
The company said that in the extraordinary case Romania could provide only small gas supplies to Ukraine, which will total less than 1% of domestic production, via the Arad-Szeged pipeline.
The top-priority for Transgaz in part of cooperation of operators the neighbor gas transport systems is the completion of the construction of the Iasi-Ungheni pipeline, which will provide gas supplies from the EU to Moldova.
