Russian Econ Ministry mulling suits lawsuits with WTO over U.S. sanctions against banks

The Russian Economic Development Ministry is discussing the possibility of filing lawsuits with the World Trade Organization (WTO) against the United States over sanctions against Russian banks, Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev said in the State Duma.

"The WTO gives us certain additional opportunities. In particular we, at the WTO council in Geneva, discussed the possibility of us filing law suits against the United States over sanctions against Russian banks. From our point of view they come under WTO restrictions, and we hope to use the WTO mechanism in order to get keep our partners in check," he said.
