The U.S. Department of Treasury has included 12 more Russian citizens on the so-called Magnitsky list, the agency said in a statement posted on its website on Tuesday.
Igor Alisov, Alexandra Gaus, Vyacheslav Khlebnikov, Dmitry Klyuyev, Dmitry Kratov, Andrei Krechetkov, Larisa Litvinova, Viktor Markelov, Vladlen Stepanov, Umar Shugaipov, Fikret Tagiyev, and Musa Vakhayev are the ones added to the list, the document said.
The so-called Magnitsky list was passed in 2012 instead of the Jackson-Vanik amendment, which limited trade relations between Moscow and Washington since 1974.
