The unilaterally proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic" has reiterated assurances that the city of Donetsk will stay away from Sunday's election for president of Ukraine.
"I now keep the seals and stamps of all the constituency commissions. The heads of the constituency election commissions have contacted officials of the Donetsk Republic and personally handed over ballot papers and documents," the chairman of the Central Election Commission of the "Donetsk People's Republic," Roman Lyagin, told reporters.
He promised that none of the polling stations in the city where presidential election voting was to be held would be open on Sunday.
