Central Election Commission Chairman Mykhailo Okhendovskiy has announced that Petro Poroshenko has been elected president of Ukraine.

Central Election Commission Chairman Mykhailo Okhendovskiy has announced that Petro Poroshenko has been elected president of Ukraine.

"Ukraine's new president, Petro Poroshenko, was elected on May 25. He will assume his duties following corresponding legal procedures," he said at a press briefing on Monday.

With 90.01% of the electronic reports processed, independent parliamentary deputy Petro Poroshenko has mustered 54.22% of the vote and leader of the Batkivshchina national association Yulia Tymoshenko 13%.
