"As of now, chaotic shooting of the settlement of Artyomovsk from the Slavyansk refinery is under way in the city," the Slovyansk militia told Interfax.

Security forces have shot at militia's block posts and forests near the Khymyk (Chemist) district. Shots are still fired at the village of Semyonovka.

The pro-autonomy militia shoots at residential quarters of Slavyansk, head of the official information group on the operation of Ukrainian security forces in southeastern Ukraine, Vladislav Seleznyov posted on Facebook. "Information on terrorists shooting at residential quarters and schools in Slavyansk is being confirmed now," he said.

Seleznyov said reports existed on injuries among civilians but did not elaborate.
