The authorities of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People's Republic have decided to close the airport in Lugansk.
"By 5 p.m. it had been decided to close the airport and ban flights to and from the airport," the LPR press office told Interfax on Monday.
"A decree was signed to discontinue regular passenger and charter flights to and from the airport due to the Ukrainian troops intensifying their activity on the territory of the Lugansk People's Republic," the statement said.
"Should the Kyiv authorities try to land some aircraft at the airport, relevant measures will be taken," the press office said.
