"The guys are indeed free. They feel OK, for the situation they are in. The issue was resolved using diplomatic methods," Pimanov told Interfax on Monday.

"No ransom was paid," he said.

Zvezda journalists Yevgeny Davydov and Nikita Konashenkov were handed over to Eduard Belashev, an aide to Russia's naval attache, by officials of the Dnepropetrovsk region's state administration earlier on Monday.
