Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a decree putting into effect a Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council resolution of June 16 supporting the presidential peace plan for the eastern part of Ukraine.

The president's decree stipulates that the plan will be in effect from 10:00 p.m. June 20 to 10:00 p.m. June 27, 2014.

"The decree takes effect on the day of its publication," the presidential press service said.

Poroshenko made public his peace plan consisting of 15 clauses on Friday. The plan envisions, among other things, disarmament, the vacation of the seized administrative buildings, the liberation of hostages, and the decentralization of the governance system through constitutional amendments.
